Palliative Care
Our Palliative Care service provides comprehensive, holistic care for patients with a life-limiting medical condition. Our care also extends to a patient’s family and carers.
Palliative care identifies and treats the physical, emotional, spiritual or social symptoms associated with cancer and other non-cancer diseases. It also provides practical and emotional support to a patient’s family and carers. Read more about palliative care (Healthy WA).
Based at Rockingham General Hospital, our service provides multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient care. This care supports patients to live as well as possible as their condition progresses.
The service is a core component of the Integrated Cancer Service and works collaboratively to deliver patients the best care possible closer to home.
Our Palliative Care team can assist with:
- managing pain and other symptoms
- planning for future treatments and guiding goals of care (external site)
- supporting patients, families and carers to address physical, social and spiritual concerns
- counselling and grief support
- equipment to help you be cared for at home.
