Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care team at Rockingham Peel Group works alongside our multidisciplinary teams to bring a holistic approach to the care of patients, their families, staff and visitors. We offer a listening ear, confidentiality and compassion, and are available to all people.

Our team is committed to community and connecting and believes healing continues after your leave the hospital. Our desire is to link patients leaving Rockingham General and Murray District hospitals with local community peer support teams to support and enrich each other.

Please feel free to email Pastoral Care or phone us on 9599 4683 if you would like to talk about how we can support you.

At Rockingham General Hospital

An Interfaith Chapel/Quiet Reflection Room is located at the main entrance next to reception. This intimate space is ideal for quiet reflection, prayer and/or worship. It is always open, and patients, families, visitors and staff are welcome at any time.

Our hospital chaplains are readily available via e-referrals and can visit upon request. Ministers from other denominations and other faith leaders can be contacted as required via the Register of religious denominations (external site).

Chaplaincy services may be contacted during office hours from 8am – 4pm weekdays. To request a visit, please:

  • speak with a member of staff
  • phone Rockingham General Hospital reception on 9599 4000
  • phone Pastoral Care Services on 9599 4683
  • email Pastoral Care.

At Murray District Hospital

A hospital chaplain can support and visit Murray District Hospital patients on request. To arrange a visit, please:

  • speak to a member of staff
  • phone Murray District Hospital reception on 9531 7222
  • phone Pastoral Care Services on 9599 4683

Help us support others

We also work holistically with community teams to build a support network across our Rockingham Peel Group community.

If you have contacts, connections or suggestions that will support patients in need in our community, please email Pastoral Care or phone us on 9599 4683.
